Happy Friday! We have the weekend off and why not start it with one of our fave last year’s wedding. You know it’s a good one when it was cloudy the whole day and we say it’s our fave! This wedding felt like we were in Tuscany with all the stunning vineyards views and cypresses all around and we can’t believe this venue is just two hours from our home. How amazing is that!
We knew we’ll have a blast photographing Sara and Gašper’s wedding day from the first time we met them over coffee and from their amazing mountainside engagement session(it’s a a must see!). The forecast on Friday said rain and thunderstorms all afternoon for Saturday and especially the time when we had our photoshoot planned. We decided to call them and ask them for a plan b. Ok, so we never call our couples the day before their wedding day unless it’s something really important and since we knew they wanted some outside photographs of the two of them we decided it’s important enough to call them.
Their first plan was to see each other for the first time at the ceremony however that wouldn’t allow us to make their portraits before the ceremony when the forecast said no rain. We gave them an option to start an hour earlier and to plan their portraits before the guests arrive, however doing that would mean that they would have to do a first look instead of seeing each other at the ceremony. They were up for it! They said that they would love to change the timeline if that means getting some outside portraits and we were so happy :).
The day started with both of them getting ready at separate locations and the moment we arrive to the venue i knew i’ll have to use those gorgeous blue doors for the dress and the getting ready. A dream! We found a beautiful olive grove just meters away from the venue where we decided to do the first look. And oh my, it was one of those first looks to remember! It was so emotional that it’s one of our fave first looks for sure! And Gašper was so happy that we did the first look because he said that he preferred to have this moment just for them instead of being surrounded by all their guests.
Those olive groves are one of our fave portraits(do you see the pattern here – fave first look, fave portraits,…) and it was on that day that we feel in love with photographing at olive groves! They hoped for an outside ceremony with views over the vineyards and the seaside and it stopped raining minutes before the ceremony started. Afterwards we went to a nearby little town for their church ceremony and their exit there was amazing! The wind started to blow and all the confetti were flowing around and it was such a beautiful sight to see! They got back to the venue in a retro van and those photographs inside the van are not posed! Can you believe that?
We did some more vineyard photographs after the ceremony(it didn’t rain like the forecast said it will!) and then the party started. We also took advantage of the pretty venue for some night-time photographs and we love those!
Sara and Gašper thank you so much for letting us photograph your beautiful day!
